When push comes to shove - the life of an employee experiencing IR-Responsible Leadership

Today I had a conversation with someone who would prefer to keep their identity anonymous...

What they had to say is so important to leaders across many industries - that we will not describe the industry they worked within.

Place yourself into this position as a business owner or leader of decisions within business and consider how you would respond in this situation...

In Australia we have a growing population of people who are employed - part time or contracted for their work.

This employees scenario began with a contract as a part time employee - for over 12 years.

As a part time 'contracted' employee you would expect to accumulate a few benefits - usually you are paid by the hour, though if your main income stream is from one employer - you may also be entitled to benefits - like superannuation.

Summarising...

The business they worked for was closing. The business was bought by an offshore entity. The offshore entity didn't pay any entitlements as part of their purchase...

The previous owners said "Take us to court if you want to"...

How many times does this scenario take place?

As a contracted employee - they are left without a foot to stand on - without having to fight for what they deserve.

This is just one scenario of irresponsible leadership that we will discuss into the future...

Where are you placed as a responsible leader...
